Renaissance Festival 2007
Once again it is time to think about the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee. This year the Middle East Mirage weekend is August 18th and 19th.
The requirement as always is that you must be dressed up. We allow people to come who don’t have a horse as long as they dress up in Arabian clothing.
Also, if you bring a horse it needs to be in native costume.
We put on two performances a day, and there is no special preparation for the performances. It is essentially a little horse show, with a judge from the audience, along with a narrative telling about the Bedouins and their love of the Arabian horse. Also, we participate in the Kings parade. (not all the horses participate in the parade) The gates open at 9:00 AM and we try to be there by then so that we make sure that we have a place to park.
You get passes into the festival along with food coupon books. You can participate only one day or both days.
What we need from you is the names of the participants, how many horses you are bringing, and what days you are taking part in.
Please give this information to Gary or Mary Florke by August 1st. You can contact us at Florke@frontiernet.net or call (651) 433-2383 if you need further details about this event.
