Secretary’s Report: Linda Pasicznyk- Approval of December minutes.
Treasurers Report: Mary Munger – Approval of treasurer’s report. Discussion on ear marking all monies received from the buyout of volunteer time to the high point program. In addition the 2011 high point rules and guidelines will be updated removing the option to sponsor classes in lieu of volunteering.
Membership Report: Ongoing renewal on line does not give an accurate count, currently as of 1/19/11 the club has 74 adults and 14 youth.
Presidents Report: Chuck Rickart – Christine Rickart reported on behalf of Chuck. Update on Region 10 preshow and Championship format.
· Region 10 Champ show- no trail classes, reining classes moved to Friday evening, tentative program for exhibitors.
· Sahara Sands will be hosting the Region 10 Champ trail classes
· 2011 horse show projection most likely will be a deficit.
· New 2011 Region 10 scholarship established in the name of Mary Ann Grimmel .
· Restructuring regional boundary discussion continues.
Vice Presidents Report: Jeff Rutz- By-laws need to be updated reflecting the quarterly newsletter and general clean up. Looking at a different voting process to cut down mailing costs. Possible electronic vote process. Further research and discussion will follow.
Committee Reports:
Newsletter – Laura Nielson – This last newsletter was costly due to the fact of election ballots, high point forms. This is a onetime expense. As discussed looking for cost saving methods.
Dressage: Jan Halter will be selling the old dressage ring for 500.00 as agreed by members at the meeting.
High Point – Linda Pasicznyk / Leann Peuse – Gulden’s informed Leann we will have the whole banquet room. Currently received 9 RSVP’s. The famous, awesome Jeff Rutz will MC the event. Tami Bagley reminded all members attending the banquet to bring a non perishable food item.
Royalty – Tami Bagley – Christine Rickart has volunteered to create some verbal questions to present to the candidates at the banquet.
Shows and Rides: GAGT – Rachel Spry presented a draft of GAGT class list. Jan Halter reviewed the dressage class list.
· In discussion with 1st draft all youth classes and NSH classes will remain the same as in previous year. Halter classes go back in, marked for Sunday morning. Suggestion to add adult Eq and Horsemanship class. Jackpot classes - 50% monies back to club, break out remaining monies for placings. Classes comprising of 3 Hunt open/unrated half arab and purebred, 3 Western half arab and purebred open unrated, and adult amateur, youth amateur.
· Payback limits 4 or more horses entered to receive paybacks.
· A silent auction for youth will be held at GAGT. Rachel Spry in charge.
Dog Days: Barb Knoth absent
2011 Schooling Shows – Spring Schooling Show – April 10 at Oasis, Lindstrom MN
The judge is Roy Johnson. Show bill will be the same as the Fall schooling show. Tami did a good job regrouping. Just a couple suggestions will be finalized, move the trail class to first after lunch. Mary and Gary Florke will have the course delivered. Jeff will email show bill to Jan Halter, Leann Peuse and Tami Bagley.
Fall Schooling Show – September 10, 2011 -Tami Bagley – Tami Bagley rearranged the class list to accommodate clothing changes. This class list may also be good for the Spring Show. Our spring show will be the first Arabian Unplugged Show in 2011.
Promotions: no report
New Business: Leann Puese is asking all members to recycle their GAGT trophies and ribbons back to the club.
